Teeth

I went to a lecture on veterinary dentistry. Ew. Crazy some of the stuff they do, though. 100 years ago of course there was no such field – it didn’t even start until the 1970’s and has only flourished in the past 20-30 years. Some of those images of rotting, bloody and abscessed teeth will haunt me for a very long time. Now I’m off to buy a cat toothbrush!

update: Argh. I’m a wretched pet owner. I came home and looked at Roy’s teeth and he’s got a raging case of gingivitis! Every last one of his little teeth has a bright red line around the gums. I think it’s not TOO bad, even though they’re red they aren’t yet swollen, and he certainly has no problem eating (wet or dry food), but the little buggar has got to go in for a cleaning. He’s going to love that.
